Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Montana

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Montana

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You could usually find pneumatic forklifts in warehouses and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to transport materials and products around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.

To be able to prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Equipment must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To be able to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be at the center to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is truly not safe to push the pallet ahead of you as the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop abruptly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
