Clark Counterbalance Forklifts Montana

Clark Counterbalance Forklifts Montana

The forklift is a material handling machine used to raise and transport loads from one place to another. Each and every part of a forklift has a particular function. Different parts can be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.

Mast
The parts used to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts for lifting loads to various heights: triplex, quad, simplex and duplex.

Power Supply
Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: electric, gas, diesel and propane. The battery is located inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is underneath the rear of the truck.

Cab
The forklift cab is located in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all located inside the cab.

Frame
Carrying all the biggest forklift parts is the frame of the truck. This consists of the counterweights located at the rear that prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
