Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
There are specially designed forklifts that operate in narrow warehouse aisles. These equipment are often known as vary narrow aisle or narrow aisle lift trucks. They could easily negotiate smaller aisles and enable you to enjoy several benefits. Like for example, the increased amount of space to store things could greatly increase a company's overall available inventory.
Narrow aisle lift trucks can maneuver easily too. These equipment have been specially engineered to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated a lot of the things that are squished up into the main body of the traditional lift truck design.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle forklifts is that they are very slow compared to standard forklifts. Narrow aisle lift trucks will not work if you need to transport things across long distances. When it comes to speed they would not be a reliable alternative. If you also have a regular forklift, this would not be an issue. You could simply utilize the narrow aisle lift truck to move the load to a central site and then hand it off to a standard lift truck which could travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely manner. Commonly, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be really helpful.
Electric Forklifts
Traditional gas lift trucks are not a suitable option for indoor applications like warehouses or stores. They would not be as safe due to their fumes, or as useful or cost-efficient compared to an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are often designed to look and work a lot like gas ones, but they utilize electric batteries that should be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered lift truck has become more common and for a variety of reasons. These equipment could help businesses save costs on fuel. Electric models will initially cost more, but will eventually save you more over time. For example, when gas prices increase, you would not be affected and will save a lot of cash. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer compared to gas powered models too. This is partially due to the fact they are mostly used indoors and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh settings as the gas powered units. Electric units are healthier to utilize in places that are badly ventilated such as warehouses and indoor operations as they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be very dangerous to use diesel or gas forklifts inside.
One of the main downsides to electric forklifts is the fact they can generally only work for one 8 hour shift before the battery needs to be charged for another shift. Many businesses get around this condition by buying an extra battery so they can have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market that are also minimizing the charging time.
