Rough terrain forklifts have been produced by CareLift Equipment, ever since 1962. Every day the company strives to help their customers reach their objectives and deliver value as they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
There are 2 general kinds of boom lifts. These units are straight boom lifts and articulated boom lifts. Often, these units are hydraulically powered. Most often straight booms are the ideal choice for tasks that need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be raised vertically to below horizontal. As the operator is able to steer and maneuver the vehicle whilst the boom is completely extended, it is a very versatile equipment. These units are available in 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, as well as diesel, propane or gas configurations.
The articulated boom lifts are used for jobs that require to reach up and over obstacles in order to gain access. These specialized lifts are used for tasks that are not easily completed by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in the majority of aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move easily around any objects in the work site.
Several heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers so as to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is fully extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Proper training is necessary prior to using boom lifts in order to guarantee the jobsite, the operator and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable jobs that used to require many more man power to be carried out in a much shorter time period. These machines have changed the material handling industry and have really increased production.
